Do you dare venture beyond the world you know?
Look, but not too closely.
Hide! Or they will see you.
Shh. Now we must be quick!
Cautious lest you fall into the spell.
Now slowly peak through the long willow’s leaves.
Do you see them?
Stay hidden and watch.
The harvest moon shone brightly on the land with the cool grass glowing. The pond that danced under the willow leaves sparkled with tiny diamonds.
Gathered in the midst of the night, lit only with the moon’s beauty, was the magical creatures. Dressed in blues that gave only more brilliance to the midnight hour.
Drums began a steady beat, bum bump, bum bump. A ringing of chimes sounded through the darkness, though none could be seen. Panpipes joined giving melody to the chaos of sound.
The creatures all stood around, slowly clasping hands, and joining the music they danced.
Was it in celebration or in another purpose that caused them to gather?
As they danced, light began to glow from them. With the dance, the glow was not only within, but all around them. All that they touched was graced by the light of the moon. In the darkness strands of light began to form from the beams around.
What are they doing?
I don’t suppose you would you know?
Remember don’t get to close.
Stay back from the light.
Caution.
The strands were slowly woven with care and placed gently in a basket. The magic continuing as each strand was woven in time with the music and dance. The creatures wove the moon’s light together. Step by step. Panpipe note by each drum beat.
Do you hear the music?
Listen!
I tell you I can hear it!
I want to go dance.
Their connection with the bright force above was evident. The pull of the moon stronger in their influence. How would they use its light?
The dancing slowed to a stop as the music begged them forward. It continued as they marched forward. The baskets were separated as each was given a purpose with the woven light inside.
Shall we follow?
We must not get caught! Haste! Come!
We must not fall behind!
Follow!
Do you hear the music call you?
We must go!
They brought the light to a town. Lit with lights of yellow on posts that once stood as mighty trees. Metal cars, houses lining the town, the sounds of the city surrounding them, but did not drown out the music.
The magical beings bioluminescence a stark contrast to the manmade yellow lights around them.
Slowly entering through windows, they entered the homes, passing through like the beams of light they carried.
Shall we follow? What are they doing inside?
Look can you see through there? Yes, that window there.
The magical beings placed a gentle hand on the sleeping child’s head. Music continued, though the child laid still, unaware of the gift that would be given.
She stood and held out as her partner placed one of the woven beams in her palm.
She knelt by the young child’s head.
“May the light of the moon protect you on your darkest nights. May it protect you from the harsh words of a world full of expectations. May it fill you with magic to see with eyes full of wonder that others often miss. You are a moonchild now. May your eyes be full of excitement. Find passions that fuel your fire to breathe and be alive. This life is worth the living, so go and live. Let your mantra be discover, learn and grow. Curiosity never ceasing, possibilities always show. Wonder is always there if you take the time to see. Magic is in the world, complex is our beauty. Gaze at all there is and dream of what could happen. Potential all around you if only you would take action.
So young one, with eyes still wide, do not forget your purpose.
Do not change the world, but change the worlds in it.
Be kind, be an encourager, be the light.”
She placed the light inside the sleeping child’s mind.
Do you wonder at what they have done?
It is a blessing given by the creatures of the moon.
Many have forgotten the blessing.
They forget when they see the darkness of the world.
They forget the darkness is the absence of light.
They forget the wonder and the beauty of the world.
They forget the magic of the night.
The moon’s brilliant shine.
Did you forget?
Did you not remember receiving a blessing of your own?
Oh, sweet child did you not realize you ventured close?
Drawn by the light you knew so well.
We saw you.
I see you now.
That face.
It is older. Your eyes hold a soul worn with the cares of this world, but it is you.
Hello, dear one. It has been awhile.
Come forward, you have already been revealed.
Did you forget?
Oh moonchild, have you forgotten your moon blessing?
Do you not remember the words I spoke over you?
Oh, I see.
Then I shall give you another.
Remember the world is full of possibilities.
You, the child with stardust in your veins.
That you would see through the hopelessness, through the bad, and that you focus on what could be.
Beauty never ceasing in different forms worldwide, one that is worth believing that we carry deep inside.
Little sprout as you grow you might have gained a scar, hurt feelings, deep wounds, or a shattered heart, but this is not the end when you’ve journeyed oh so far.
Go back to the basics and remember who you are.
The tools you gathered along your way are still within your grasp.
So rise after the healing and go discover your next task.
Discover, learn, and grow.
Change the worlds you encounter.
Be kind, inspire all, help to see them grow.
Help others see their beauty deep inside.
Help the broken hearts who were shattered with words of angry pride.
You can do so much by keeping that hopeful glow.
By walking your path.
And letting society keep what they know.
Find passions that fuel your fire to breathe and be alive.
This life is worth the living so go and live your life.
Let your mantra be discover, learn, and grow.
Curiosity never ceasing, possibilities always show.
Wonger is always there if you take the time to see.
Magic is in the world, complex is our beauty.
Gaze at all there is and dream of what could happen.
Potential all around you if only you would take action.
And I believe you can take action.
For you are a child with moon’s magic as your guide.
Illuminating the world around you.
Stardust in your veins.
Never forget you are not overcome by the darkness because little child you hold the moon’s light within you.
Be the bright spot in the darkness.
Go and illuminate!

I am loving The Adventure Shop! Fiction and fantasy is such a diverse genre, but many times, stories seem to follow similar paths. It can be difficult to find and to write something truly unique, but that is precisely what you have created with The Adventure Shop! Your characters are so relatable, and there are so many great details and descriptions woven throughout each post. I haven’t decided yet which character is my favorite, but once I do, they will certainly hold a spot tied with Greeney ☺️ I can’t wait for your next post!

“One more time.” The way you spoke about that phrase reminded me of Hebrews 12:1-2.
I’m so thankful for the example you are setting.

I admire your willing vulnerability and how you have place fear into the open, showing it to be a sad little creature that can only torment when unacknowledged.
I have not overcome fear of creating in a while, might be time to start seeing as I have a role model.

I think putting yourself out there is one of the most terrifying things you can do, but it can be so rewarding! So I try to not think of the negative “what if’s” but rather the positive ones, you’ve got this!
